Shaq’s Bass All-Stars 2024 Review: A Slam Dunk, but Not Quite a Home Run

After experiencing Shaq’s Bass All-Stars 2024, I’m giving it a solid B. While still an exciting event for bassheads, it fell slightly short compared to previous years. The smaller scale and some key changes left room for improvement, though the incredible music and positive vibes kept it from being a total disappointment. Let’s break it down.
Music: A+
The music at Shaq’s Bass All-Stars never disappoints, and this year was no exception. With hard-hitting sets from artists like Rated R and Space Laces B2B Eptic, every drop felt like a visceral experience. The 360 stage might have been smaller than expected, but the sound quality and energy were unbeatable. No matter where you stood, the music delivered—and that’s what keeps fans coming back year after year.
VIP Amenities: A
VIP perks remained a highlight of the festival, though they took a step back from last year. This year’s VIP setup was limited to the mainstage, which was understandable given the smaller event size. However, the perks—shorter bar lines, well-maintained restrooms, and an overall elevated experience—still made the upgrade worth it. While it didn’t quite live up to previous VIP setups, it was still a solid offering.
Crowd and Community: A+
The vibes this year were fantastic. Shaq’s Bass All-Stars continues to attract a crowd that’s there for the love of music and good times. The energy was positive, and the mosh pits, while intense, were friendly and respectful. It’s always refreshing to see such a welcoming crowd at a bass festival, and this year’s attendees truly embodied the spirit of PLUR.
Activities and Attractions: C
Here’s where things took a hit. In past years, the festival featured attractions like a Ferris wheel that added a playful, interactive element. This year, the Ferris wheel was swapped out for a basketball game, which felt underwhelming in comparison. While it was a fun nod to Shaq’s NBA roots, it didn’t have the same wow factor or engagement level.
Stage Design: B
The stages were solid but not particularly memorable. While the mainstage delivered the necessary energy and visuals, it lacked the over-the-top design elements that can elevate a festival experience. The smaller 360 stage was fun but felt cramped, leaving some fans hoping for something grander.
Final Thoughts: Why Shaq’s Bass All-Stars 2024 Earns a B
Shaq’s Bass All-Stars 2024 had its ups and downs. While the music and crowd vibes were as strong as ever, the smaller scale and lackluster attractions left it feeling less impressive compared to previous years. That said, it’s still a festival worth attending for bass lovers.
With a little more attention to attractions and stage design, next year’s event could easily bounce back to an A+. Until then, Shaq’s Bass All-Stars remains a unique festival with great music and a loyal community. Here’s hoping 2025 brings the energy we know this festival is capable of.
